About Us
A friend is one to whom you can pour out the contents of your heart, chaff and grain alike. Knowing that the gentlest of hands will take and sift it, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away.

Jen’s Perspective
We met in Tampa, FL through the Society of Creative Anachronism, though we initially started dating through OK Cupid. Strange story there… I had gone to a local barony meeting and needed the webminister’s help. Our webminister at the time was none other than Jeff Kramer. I remember thinking at the time that here was this cute guy, but…oh look! A butterfly! Over a year later, we reconnected through OK Cupid without realizing we already knew each other. Jeff remembers nothing, rather like the incident with Datz. Just ask Jeff about Datz.
So, we reconnected at a Panera, realized we actually knew each other, and followed that up with our first real date…at DisneyQuest. 😀 The rest, as they say, is history.
Within a year, Jeff transitioned from his bachelor life to joining me in my crazy life with Charlotte, dogs, cats, horses and now, bees. The cats, sadly, had to stay in Florida with my dad when we moved to Pittsburgh since Jeff is horribly allergic to the adorable little hairballs. The bees were entirely Jeff’s idea. Ask Jeff how to make mead. 🙂
While you’re at it, ask Jeff about pickling things, charcuterie, hacking, making giant old fashioned spot lights, and his book. He is a passionate, energetic person who doesn’t sit still well, and loves finding new ways to challenge himself, and us. He is such an important part of our lives. Thanks to Jeff, there’s always music in our lives, we sing our way through our chores (and showers), and the world is always a little brighter in part due to his 1000 watt smile that he puts his whole being into.
Jeff’s Perspective
Born free, but now trapped in an insane asylum of his own devising, Jeff will attempt to not write this in the third person. Jen and I met in Tampa, and immediately did nothing but look at each other at a monthly SCA board meeting. In a moment of prescient foreshadowing, Jen started giving me orders about how she wanted the web page to look – and I overdelivered as usual. Fast forward a year and we’ve totally lost touch. I received a message from a cute girl on OKCupid – another SCAdian? OK. Nerdy enough to deal with me, definitely. Let’s go out and see how this goes…
Well, one date at Panera and another at DisneyQuest and I was hooked – and I’ve been hooked well and good ever since. Jen has stepped directly into my mentality without blinking (much) and has been really my best friend. She’s quickly moved to support my various habi… hobbies, and does all of the little things that I too quickly forget exist. I love her, her daughter and all of the chaos life can bring us.
I have never known so much joy. We sing and dance our way through life, and I can’t ask for a better partner.
